About the event

Veterans are also at least 2x more likely to be diagnosed with ALS - also known as Lou Gehrig's disease - than their civilian counterparts. Even more startling, our nation loses an average of 1,055 veterans each year from this currently incurable disease.

We refuse to accept that this current state has to also be our future state. Reveille Grounds will be walking in honor of one of our favorite veterans on October 5th AND for all other members of our military-connected community that have lived experience with ALS.

Join ALS Mission DuBois as our Baltimore-based Crew heads to DC for this year's Walk to Defeat ALS.

The Walk to Defeat ALS raises funds to support those affected by ALS and to spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure... including retired Army Veteran David DuBois.

Retired from both the United States Army and post-military career with the Federal Government, David is now in the fight of his life against this still-incurable disease. Instead of succumbing to this diagnosis, though, David continues to exemplify the very definition of servant-leadership. In fact, even though his body isn't allowing use of the power tools David loves, he has found a new service outlet and his documenting his journey with ALS via his weekly blog.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure.

Reveille Grounds has joined ALS Mission DuBois in order to stand - and WALK - in support of a cure for this deadly disease.

David's goal is to get 100 walkers to join his team on October 5th in DC. Reveille plans to exceed his goal by mobilizing 100 individuals from the military-connected community alone... Active Duty, transitioning servicemembers, Guard, Reserve, veterans of all ages and eras, loved ones, and members of the community that support us.

Not local or can't join us in October? Donate now as we push for a cure and help David meet his financial goals!
